The 3 star Hotel Tropical Playa is situated around 400 metres from the seafront promenade and Playa de Troya beach, in the lively resort of Playa de las Americas on the south west coast of Tenerife. The hotel is approximately 17km west of the Reina Sofia International Airport, and a short walk from the commercial centre of the resort where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1985 and extensively renovated during the summer of 2002, the modern Hotel Tropical Playa has a total of 189 guest rooms, including 28 one bedroom apartments and a further 161 studio flats, which are built over 7 floors and set amidst spacious sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator, and a combined lounge/dining room with sofa beds, direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Tropical Playa also offers the use of a large air conditioned conference and meeting room, seating a maximum of 30 people, which is fully equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground, along with a hard surface tennis court, a multi sports activity area for football and volleyball etc, a cardiovascular gymnasium and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Tropical Playa also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment, with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
