Part of the Gema Group of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Esmeralda Playa is situated around 200 metres from the Torviscas Fanabe beach, in the popular resort of Costa Adeje on the south west coast of Tenerife. The hotel is approximately 20km west of the Reina Sofia International Airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1986, the modern Hotel Esmeralda Playa has a total of 303 guest rooms, including 246 twin room, 39 singles and a further 18 Suites, which are built over 9 floors and set amidst spacious sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the sea.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, a number of rooms at the Hotel Esmeralda Playa have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen three times a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests the Hotel Esmeralda Playa also offers the use of a large air conditioned conference and meeting room which is equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, as well as a further smaller children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's mini club, along with a hard surface tennis court, a multi-sports activity area for handball, five-a-side football and volleyball etc.

Guest staying at the Hotel Esmeralda Playa also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels own Spa and Wellness Centre, offering a variety of cosmetic and other beauty treatments including a tonification pool, cube shower, ice fountain, physiotherapy, chocotherapy, winetherapy, thalasso and wax depilation, as well as a Jacuzzi, sauna and cardiovascular gymnasium.

The Hotel Esmeralda Playa also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
