The hotel is approximately 28km west of the Los Rodeos International Airport, and 1.5km from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1969 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2014, the modern Hotel El Tope has a total of 220 guest rooms, including 213 twin rooms and a further 7 singles, which are built over 6 floors, and set amidst spacious sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, mini bar, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area.

In addition to the above features, 4 guest rooms at the Hotel El Tope have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals with free WiFi access available in selected areas, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel El Tope also offers the use of a number of large air conditioned conference and meeting rooms, all of which are equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a hard surface tennis court, along with both pool and table tennis tables.

Guests staying at the Hotel El Tope also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels own Spa and Wellness Centre, which features a cardiovascular gymnasium, Jacuzzi and sauna, as well as offering a variety of other cosmetic and beauty treatments including hydromassage, beautician and hairdressing consulting rooms.

The Hotel El Tope also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment in the Lounge Bar, with either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the Hotel El Tope's high standards of customer care and management systems, the hotel has been awarded the Tui Holly in 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2000, and the Thomson Gold Award in 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 2003.
