Built in 1985 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2003, the modern Hotel Bitacora has a total of 314 guest rooms, which are built over 8 floors and set amidst spacious sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower, hairdryer and cosmetic mirror, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, mini bar, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a daily maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals with WiFi available in selected areas of the hotel, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes 2 large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, one of which has an integrated children's section with water slide, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include the "Nenelandia" children's playground and mini club, as well as a hard surface tennis court, mini golf course and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Bitacora also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the Spring Group high standards of customer care, and overall customer satisfaction, the Hotel Bitacora has been awarded the First Choice Holidays 2006 Gold Choice Award, along with the Thomas Cook 2006 Marque of Excellence Award and 2006 JMC Overall Best in Brand Award.
